  • Newark, NJ (1888PressRelease) September 24, 2010 - ClassLink, the leading provider of virtualization and managed learning solutions for K12 school systems, welcomes Bruce Wilcox as its new VP of Blended Learning. Wilcox will spearhead ClassLink's "LaunchPad" instructional solution. LaunchPad is the centralized point of access where teachers and students login to see a customized, dynamic desktop from which all applications can be easily accessed from any computing device in the school, community or home.

"Bruce provides our organization depth in the emerging mobile learning arena," said Berj Akian, CEO, "along with considerable expertise in vendor and client relations."

"I am very pleased to have joined this progressive company and look forward to being a part of the continued technology evolution in education," said Wilcox. "LaunchPad is an essential tool in the design of technology enhanced learning experiences for students. With the emergence of myriad low cost computing solutions for schools which vary from netbooks to laptops, to tablets, to smartphones, LaunchPad provides an effective means for this robust and heterogeneous environment to be managed, and thus tailored, to the core mission of schooling - that of teaching and learning."

Added CEO Akian "The movement to embrace student-owned technology is an inevitable migration that our school clients will have to address. Bruce's experience, both in defining technology standards for student devices and his pioneering work in mobile learning ensures that LaunchPad will reflect school requirements and, at the same time, accommodate the Bring Your Own Computer (BYOC) evolution."
