A story full of drama, suspense, horror, romance and even giants

    About the Book:
Stevie Darling's mundane life is flipped upside down by a betrayal and he soon finds himself on the run. His saving grace is that he’s agile, and manages to evade capture. Whilst trying to escape his past, Stevie encounters a forgotten friend, Ker Lo, whose own past carries great mysteries that will inevitably intertwine with Stevie’s journey.

Stevie realises that his most recent actions may not be the crime he is most obligated to fix, and doing so proves to be a mission beyond anything Stevie had imagined. As he discovers a world of dark secrets and ancient legends, he decides he must save his hometown and the people he loves before he can save himself.

Excerpt from “The Low Road to Brenskie”:
“Paul rested the rocket-launcher on his shoulder. He would keep it. His trophy, he supposed. Before he could move a step away from his nephew's body, a flame flickered in the hole made by the first fireball. Then…

    BANG!

It exploded into a hundred stars just like it had in the sky. The stars lingered around them. Paul didn't have time to wonder what he was looking at as the sound was so loud it burst Paul's left eardrum. His ears were ringing. He crashed to his knees as the gun fell and tumbled away from him.

He shook his head, trying to bring back the normal sounds of the trees and the wind. It was coming. He could hear the birds’ wings flapping as they fled from the explosion. Then, just as his hearing returned and the ringing stopped…

    BANG!

The second fireball exploded. Paul was thrown to the floor by the force of it. He scrambled onto all fours, unable to see, unable to hear. He flipped over and sat on his backside, ears ringing. The stars surrounded him. He looked at them, disoriented, trying to understand them. Just as the ringing began to cease and the last of the stars faded away, Angel appeared with Madeleine in his clutches.
Angel stopped suddenly when he saw Ker’s body on the ground. A rage filled his eyes. He turned to look at his brother.

“What have ye done?” said Angel.

He was holding Madeleine by her shirt. He threw her to the ground and stormed toward his brother. It was then that Madeleine noticed Ker.

“What have ye done?” Angel repeated louder this time.

    “No,” Madeleine gasped.

She quickly stood and ran toward him, but her legs gave out and she stumbled and crawled the final few feet to her lifeless lover.”
