CLASS LTD offers Hope in Host Family Services in Southeast Kansas

However, CLASS LTD provides unique services for these individuals as they mature into adults, by providing host family services in a home environment for these young adults. The not-for-profit organization's program pairs host families with individuals needing the structure and supports of a family setting.
Families under contract provide services to individuals with disabilities over the age of eighteen and placement may be long-term. Matched according to preferences, strengths and needs, host families are carefully monitored to maintain a high degree of quality care for the individual. This relationship develops into a life sharing experience for both the host family and the individual. CLASS LTD's host family service philosophy is to provide a continuum of ongoing supervision toward the goal of high quality, cost-effective care, and independence obtainment for the young adult. It ensures long-lasting development and delivery of appropriate services to those adults with developmental disabilities in Cherokee, Crawford, Labette and Montgomery counties in southeast Kansas (SEK).
The services that the host family provides range from life skills to vocational training. The expected outcomes are that the individual achieves continued community involvement, improved quality of life and the benefits of a nurturing home with hosts who have been trained to provide support and personalized long-term care. Since 1984, CLASS LTD has achieved the highest level of national accreditation by The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) that assures its stakeholders of its commitment to high standards for this organization.
