- San Diego, CA (1888PressRelease) October 13, 2010 - A music-filled event is coming to Encinitas, California on October 16th to support a program supported by the non-profit Class-ACT.
"Microloans for Mothers" was envisioned by a group of local women to support their counterparts in the developing world in starting their own business. The funds will be used to provide micro-loans for the mothers of students who attend a school in Cambodia supported by our non-profit organization, enabling them to develop businesses that support their families.
"Microloans For Mothers can change a mother's life and that of her family forever," said Niels Lund, Class-ACT Executive Director. "We give small loans of $100 that are paid back with interest, and the interest payment supports the school attended by the mother's children."
The benefit event features the following bands: SIMPLE GREEN (reggae) 5PM; H2OLD (rock) 6PM; SEMISI'S FULABULA BAND (island rock) 7PM; VON SWAYZI (classic rock) 8PM; and FULL REVOLUTION (hard rock) 9PM. $20 admission includes food, donated by area restaurants. The event also includes a raffle/silent auction.
The Elks Lodge is located at 1393 Windsor Road, Cardiff by the Sea, CA 92007. For tickets, visit www.classactarts.org or call (760) 436-3729.
