Clash Magazine & EASTnotEAST present FYFE + JAMIE ISAAC
After a sold out show with Bipolar Sunshine and Benin City, our sister clubnight EASTnotEAST continues its new monthly residency at Birthdays on Wednesday September 4th with a smattering of live electronic folk and abnormal beats.
- (1888PressRelease) August 15, 2013 - Fyfe and Jamie Isaac will grace the stage for full live performances, with a third live act yet to be announced, and the entire night will be sewn together by the divine micro-DJ sets of Somerset producer, DJ God Hard.
September 4th will also mark the release of Clash Magazine issue 88, and the first fifty advance ticket buyers will receive a FREE copy on arrival at the venue.
Fyfe is 23-year-old Paul Dixon. Once known as Mercury signing David's Lyre, Dixon has reinvented himself as Fyfe and garnered mass attention with the delicate and experimental pop sounds of his 'Solace EP'. The coming months will see even more new music, and his most recent track 'Conversations' might be the best so far, manifesting as a haunting ballad of glassy vocals and chattering beats.
Elsewhere on the bill, we bring South London's newest electronic singer/songwriter, Jamie Isaac. The 18-year-old originally became known for his collaborative work with King Krule, but has now acquired a solid solo following since the release of his masterful 'I Will Be Cold Soon EP'. From that release, 'Softly Draining Seas' has become his clarion call, a dark and warped piano number full of clicking percussion and reverbed vocals.
Advance tickets are £6.50 from Skiddle, or £8 on the door. If you attended the last EASTnotEAST, then check your emails for a special loyalty discount code.
