Clark Philippines Hot Air Balloon Fiesta Features More Balloons for 2012
Premier Philippines Tourist and Business Economic Zone Once again Chosen for the Annual Air Show.
- (1888PressRelease) December 14, 2011 - An established economic zone an hour drive north of Manila, is once again hosting an air show unlike any other in the country and perhaps all of Southeast Asia.
Clark is a thriving government tourist and business economic zone, converted and evolving from the historic U.S. air force base of decades past. The transformation began when the U.S. military vacated the huge base back in the early nineties. The relentless eruptions of Mt. Pinatubo forced the evacuation and subsequent handover of billions of dollars of infrastructure to the Philippine government. Multinational corporations have built billion dollar manufacturing facilities in the zone along with some of the finest resorts, hotels, golf courses, casinos and amusement parks in all of the Philippines.
With the increasing yearly media coverage and the evolving program size, larger crowds are expected to visit the 17th annual Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta held at Philippine Air Force's (PAF) ADAC hangar at the Clark Airbase. The Clark venue is projected to host over 100,000 people from February 9th thru 12th in 2012. This anticipated crowd is 20,000 more than last year's 80,000 attendance figure.
The spectators are to be treated to a larger and more varied 4-day event. At least nine countries are expected to participate. Uniquely-shaped, brightly-colored, giant-sized balloons will be on display for all to admire. According to Clark Development Corporation's tourism officials, at this point, at least 22 balloons are scheduled to be flying in the 2012 show. Many more balloon owners from America have already confirmed their participation this year making for a more varied display of balloons.
Organizers of the Philippine Hot Air Balloon Fiesta said the balloon operators/owners will come from United States, Japan, Sweden, Finland, Germany, Amsterdam, United Kingdom, South Korea and the Philippines.
The Clark Freeport zone has become the home to this annual international aviation sporting event for many reasons. The wide-open spaces, favorable flying weather, scenic ambiance and the general features and tourist amenities the zone has to offer make it the ideal venue. Clark has a wide array of hotels and resorts to cater to just about every budget, from simple and small single unit hostels to incredibly high-end hotels and leisure establishments that afford full suites and even large villas for large group accommodations. Golfers, casino lovers and outdoor enthusiasts will also be happy with the array of recreational facilities that envelop the zone. The close proximity of Angeles city, with its casinos, resorts, renowned nightlife, bars and restaurants, hotels and resorts, make for a complete, integrated fun zone for what has become one of the largest events in the Philippines.
As this event fills up hotel rooms many weeks in advance, interested individuals, corporate groups and school groups are encouraged to book their rooms as soon as possible.
