The conference, being held Oct. 3-5, 2018, at the Lord Baltimore Hotel in Baltimore, Maryland, is the premier meeting of Medicare Set-Aside (MSA) professionals. Under the theme “Charting a Course for Change,” Kim will share her insights as she joins other industry insiders on the What’s Trending panel on Friday, Oct. 5, at 10:45 a.m.
Kim recently joined CLARA from MEDVAL, where she oversaw integration of the company’s activities, including those that influenced product development, maintenance and improvement, to ensure alignment with business strategies. She is also a past president of the board of directors for NAMSAP, where she currently serves on the Annual Meeting, RED BOOK™, and MSCC subcommittees as well as the Legislative, Data Development, and Communications committees.
Kim has provided consulting services to the CMS and a number of state agencies and associations and is a frequent presenter at industry conferences, seminars and training sessions concerning Medicare Secondary Payer Compliance, medical cost management, and provider coding and reimbursement. Kim also sits on the faculty for WorkCompCentral’s WorkCompSchool and serves as the Fee Schedule Committee Co-Chair for a California legislative advisory body composed of top risk managers and select attorneys who advocate for industry insurance defense and related workers’ compensation legislation.

Kim’s panel session will include observations regarding approval trends under the new CMS WCRC subcontractor responsible for review and approval of submitted MSAs, submission vs. non-submission trends in the industry, recent Medicare handling of MSA accounts where funds have been exhausted, and other related topics.
