London estate agents Hastings International gave their reaction to City AM's round up of the current crop of hot London property areas for potential homebuyers.
(1888PressRelease) April 08, 2011 - City AM recently cited both Rotherhithe property and property in Borough around Bermondsey for excellent value for money plus lifestyle opportunities.
'Hot' property in London typically features outside space and the 'liveability' factor - good local transport connections; amenities; and plenty to keep homeowners entertained. City AM reported that Rotherhithe is often overlooked and the team gave their response:
"It might well be an area that people do overlook, which is very strange because Rotherhithe property comes with some amazing plus factors. Bermondsey was also tipped as a 'hidden property gem', especially for city workers. The area offers easy access to the city, the South Bank for culture, the More London and Bermondsey Square entertainment and lifestyle complexes plus plenty more bars around the famous Borough food market:
"Again, for both location and features, property in Borough has an awful lot more to offer for your investment, even compared to some traditionally higher priced London property areas. We have homes for sale around Bermondsey Street, which is lined with cafes, bars and restaurants and of course lies a stones throw from Borough gourmet food market. Property in Borough and Rotherhithe have not seen the dramatic declines currently witnessed elsewhere in the UK. Overall, London prices appear robust, in sharp contrast to the national decline. Local schools under Southwark Council are within the top 25% according to national league tables. Furthermore, 95% of parents receive their first choice of primary school.
