  • Philadelphia, PA-NJ (1888PressRelease) January 19, 2012 - In December 2011, Philadelphia accounting, tax and business consulting firm Citrin Cooperman supported Entrepreneur Works, a nonprofit that provides business development services and loans to entrepreneurs, at its annual Taste of Success fundraiser.

Citrin Cooperman served as a sponsor of the Philadelphia region entrepreneurs' food-focused fundraising event, which was held at Jack's Firehouse in Philadelphia. The event brought together Entrepreneur Works supporters, clients, organization funders, staff, and local politicians, for an evening including a cook-off / bake-off competition, silent auction and more - all in support of Entrepreneur Works' mission to grow businesses and jobs in the local community.

"We are proud to support fundraising events like these that help our Philadelphia-area entrepreneurs," said Citrin Cooperman Partner Alan Mandeloff. "Without entrepreneurs, our unique Philadelphia community would not be what it is today. Citrin Cooperman stands behind, and believes in, the good work of Entrepreneur Works and its mission to cultivate and promote successful entrepreneurs in underserved areas of the Greater Philadelphia region."

Melinda "Small Biz Lady" Emerson served as Mistress of Ceremonies and was joined by Philadelphia City Councilman Bill Green, supporter of recent pro-small business tax reforms and a champion for small businesses in Philadelphia. Other key event participants included celebrity judges Phyllis Stein Novack, a Philadelphia-area food critic and journalist; Jack McDavid, restaurateur and owner of Reading Terminal Markets' Down Home Diner; and Cornell Rambert, head chef at Jack's Firehouse. The panel of judges determined the winners of Entrepreneur Works' signature cook-off competition, in which 12 food-industry clients battled for prizes in several categories.
