Citrin Cooperman's Philadelphia Office Embodies the Holiday Spirit by Giving Back to Toys for Tots, One Warm Coat & Philabundance
Philadelphia Accounting, Tax & Business Consulting Firm Donates Time, Food, Toys, Coats and More to Those in Need.
- Philadelphia, PA-NJ (1888PressRelease) January 13, 2012 - In December 2011, the professionals and staff at Philadelphia accounting, tax and business consulting firm, Citrin Cooperman supported Philadelphia-area organizations Philabundance, Toys for Tots and One Warm Coat.
More than 25 office staff members pushed aside spreadsheets and calculators, rolled up their sleeves and joined several other companies and organizations to package boxes of food at Philabundance's Hunger Relief Center. The group filled approximately 680 boxes which were distributed to shelters in the Philadelphia region. The Philadelphia office also raised $2,000 for the nonprofit, which is the largest hunger relief organization in the Delaware Valley.
"Nearly one million people in Philadelphia are at risk for hunger - 23 percent of which are children. Through organizations like Philabundance, our office can give back to those who are in need," said Mark Carrow, Managing Partner of Citrin Cooperman's Philadelphia office. "It was our privilege to support Philabundance, along with Toys for Tots and One Warm Coat, with our time and monetary gifts this holiday season."
Also in December, each of Citrin Cooperman's five offices (Springfield, N.J.; White Plains, N.Y.; Norwalk, Conn.; Philadelphia; and New York City) donated more than 650 toys, 300 coats and $6,600 to their local Toys for Tots and One Warm Coat chapters. The effort concluded on December 16 when the contributions were delivered to the local nonprofit chapters. The charitable effort was coordinated through the accounting firm's "Citrin Cooperman Cares" committee and established as a friendly philanthropic competition between its five offices.
"The outpouring of generosity was only eclipsed by the energy and enthusiasm our professionals and staff brought to the Toys for Tots and One Warm Coat effort," said Joel Cooperman, Citrin Cooperman's Managing Partner. "Each of our offices gladly welcomed the opportunity to help give back to the communities in which they live and work."
The Toys for Tots Program, run by the U.S. Marines, collects new, unwrapped toys for distribution as Christmas gifts to needy children in communities where campaigns are conducted. One Warm Coat assists in the donation of new and gently used coats, working with individuals, companies and organizations to collect and deliver coats to local agencies that distribute them free, to people in need.
