Citrin Cooperman Manager Michael Zyborowicz Honored with National Multiple Sclerosis Society's Leadership Award
National Multiple Sclerosis Society Awards Citrin Cooperman Manager Michael Zyborowicz with Leadership Award.
- Philadelphia, PA-NJ (1888PressRelease) October 28, 2011 - Michael Zyborowicz, a Certified Public Accountant and Manager of the accounting, tax and business consulting firm Citrin Cooperman in Philadelphia, was awarded the National Multiple Sclerosis Society's MS Leadership Award. Zyborowicz was recognized for his philanthropic efforts at the organization's MS Leadership Class Awards Reception hosted by honorary chair and former President of the 76ers, Pat Croce, at The Union League of Philadelphia.
Zyborowicz is a supporter of the National MS Society, a nonprofit organization committed to mobilizing people and resources to drive research for a cure and to address the challenges of those affected by multiple sclerosis. He was invited by the Society to become a member of MS Leadership Class program, which honors Philadelphia-area corporate executives who have made outstanding contributions in the fight to end multiple sclerosis in the Greater Delaware Valley area. Zyborowicz has raised $2,050 for the Society to date as part of the 2011 MS Leadership Class program.
"Supporting the National MS Society has been my honor," said Zyborowicz. "The MS Society and its Leadership Class program are especially close to my heart as one of my close friends was recently diagnosed with a form of MS. I find comfort in knowing that the monies raised through this program will be used to fund services and programs for young people like my friend, living with MS in the Delaware Valley."
An audit manager in Citrin Cooperman's Philadelphia office, Zyborowicz has eight years of accounting experience. He provides clients with general audit and business consulting services, as well as consultation on internal controls matters, financial statements preparation, and benchmarking. Zyborowicz joined the firm after graduating from Syracuse University, where he earned a B.S. in accounting.
In addition to supporting the Philadelphia-area community through the MS Society, Zyborowicz is a member of Back on My Feet, a nonprofit organization that promotes the self-sufficiency of those experiencing homelessness by engaging them in running as a means to build confidence, strength, and self-esteem; and is a board member of Playworks, a national nonprofit organization that supports learning by providing safe, healthy, and inclusive play and physical activity to schools at recess and throughout the entire school day.

Michael Zyborowicz has raised $2,050 to create a world free of multiple sclerosis through the 2011 MS Leadership Class. This campaign honors up-and-coming professional and community leaders for their outstanding contributions to the region as they conduct a special gifts campaign. This year's class, comprised of 43 outstanding honorees, exceeded its goal of raising $125,000 to provide direct services and research to benefit 13,000 people living with MS in the Greater Delaware Valley. In appreciation of their efforts, MS Leadership Class members were guests of honor at an awards reception hosted by Pat Croce.
