CIS Recognised For Seven Years Without A Lost Time Incident
Conductor Installation Services Ltd (CIS), an Acteon company, announced another historic HSE milestone: seven years without a single accident or incident resulting in a Lost Time Incident (LTI). As a result, for the third consecutive year CIS received the prestigious Gold Award for Occupational Health and Safety 2012 from the UK's Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA).
- (1888PressRelease) July 26, 2012 - "The RoSPA Awards programme provides well-deserved recognition for the winners and spurs on other organisations to raise their standards of accident and ill health prevention," said David Rawlins, Awards Manager for RoSPA. "We congratulate Conductor Installation Services Ltd on its success and encourage it, and all our other winners, to remain committed to safety and health, an approach that is well recognised to be good for workers and the bottom line."
CIS, a member of Acteon's Conductors, Risers and Flowlines group, provides conductor installation services associated with construction projects carried out in the global oil and gas industry. These services are carried out both onshore and offshore to, for example, create foundations for new wells, platforms, bridges and jetties.
The RoSPA Awards criteria includes not only accident records, but the entrant's overall health and safety management systems, recognising important practices such as strong leadership and workforce involvement. For CIS, this means its personnel exhibit solid teamwork, a high level of safety awareness and implementation of rigorous HSE standards.
In recognition of this outstanding achievement, Andy Penman, Group Managing Director of CIS, was presented the award by Eric Wiles, RoSPA Trustee at the RoSPA Occupational Health & Safety Awards Ceremony in Birmingham earlier this month.
"It's extremely heartening to know that as a result of our training programmes and employees' dedication to safe working practices and constant vigilance continues to generate such an impressive safety record," said Penman. "The fact that we work in such a wide variety of environments, from tropical jungles to freezing stormy seas, makes it that much more meaningful," he added.
Dedication to Safety Produces Results
"I find it very inspiring that CIS has maintained a perfect safety record since it opened its doors for business seven years ago," said Kevin Burton - Executive Vice President, Risk & HSE for the Acteon Group. "From the beginning, the company set its sights on achieving a perfect safety record, so receiving this third consecutive Gold Award is certainly a fitting way to have its commitment to safety both on- and offshore recognised," he added.
CIS's dedication to the highest levels of Quality, Health, Safety & Environment standards has helped the company to earn ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001 accreditations, as well as the highly sought after OHSAS 18001:2007. This latest award from RoSPA confirms the company's dedication to safety.
The range of services provided by CIS supports the Acteon Group's commitment to linking subsea services across a range of interconnected disciplines.
