Presented before an international audience of Power industry experts, policy makers and media at the Dubai World Trade Center, the "Best Innovation or Technology of the Year Award" was established to recognize companies that have made a significant contribution to the growth and development of the Power Industry. Judged by a globally recognized panel of Power and Renewable Energy experts, award candidates were assessed on the following criteria: the creativity of their innovation and whether it represents a clear "break" with previously established methods or processes; is the innovation cost effective and sustainable; and is the innovation likely to establish itself as standard industry practice within five years.
