CIMCON Lighting and NEMCCO selected for a Street Light Automation Pilot Project in Qatar
CIMCON Lighting, a market leader in industrial automation solutions together with its partner NEMCCO has been selected for a street light automation pilot project in the Middle East country of Qatar.
- (1888PressRelease) May 04, 2011 - Boston, MA: CIMCON Lighting, Inc., the world's leading provider of advanced turnkey industrial automation systems today announced that it has been selected together with its local partner, Network Electrical & Mechanical Contracting Company ("NEMCCO") to conduct a Street Light Automation Pilot Project in the Middle East nation of Qatar.
CIMCON and NEMCCO were selected by Qatar's street light management officials to pilot CIMCON's "LightingGale" intelligent street light management system in order to test the system's ability to reduce energy and maintenance costs. According to Mr. Ali G. Keshawarz, of NEMCCO, "LightingGale's advanced software functionality, including its integration with Google Maps; its ability to report on individual lamp and ballast faults; its Maintenance Module which can generate work orders and store maintenance history; and its asset monitoring capability will save maintenance crews time and money by allowing them to quickly locate faults and reduce the number of field visits that they need to make."
LightingGale is an automated "plug and play" street light management system that uses the latest RF-Wireless, GPRS/GSM technology to monitor street lights in order to reduce energy costs by as much as 30% and maintenance costs by 50%. LightingGale street light controllers can be installed quickly and easily on existing street lights, new LED lights, or be used by communities currently employing traditional street lights but wishing to convert to LEDs in the future.
