Ciena Healthcare's Courtney Manor facility in Bad Axe, Michigan, has been awarded the highest honors of "Facility of Excellence" award by the Health Care Association of Michigan.
- Detroit, MI (1888PressRelease) September 18, 2010 - Courtney Manor, a five-star rated Ciena Healthcare managed skilled nursing facility located in Bad Axe, Michigan, has been awarded the Calvin H. Monfils Facility of Excellence Award by the Health Care Association of Michigan (HCAM). This award is the highest honor for a facility given out by the Health Care Association of Michigan. The award is based on an arduous judging process incorporating submissions from facilities throughout Michigan as well as an on site visit.
Courtney Manor will be recognized at an awards luncheon in September at HCAM's annual convention, held this year in Mt. Pleasant.
"This is a tremendous honor for Courtney Manor and a testament to the community's dedication to the health and well being of its residents," said Mohammad Qazi, president, Ciena Healthcare. "Courtney Manor epitomizes the Ciena commitment to quality care and we are very proud of the entire Courtney Manor team."
Skilled nursing facilities nominated for the award are judged in four categories: best practices, facility operations, internal and external relationships and an on-site evaluation. Criteria include annual licensure and certification inspection reports, complaint investigation reports, innovative resident care services, staff development, relationships with families of residents and employees, continuum of care, quality of life and care, food services and environmental services. Courtney Manor achieved the highest combined ranking for all categories, in an evaluation process that began in April.
"Our team is dedicated, compassionate and truly loves their work," said Kay Peruski, administrator, Courtney Manor. "It is wonderful to receive this recognition for the hard work and exceptional resident care Courtney Manor provides day in and day out."
The Health Care Association of Michigan (HCAM) is the premier professional association representing nursing and rehabilitation communities including for and not for profit, county medical care and hospital based providers.
