  • (1888PressRelease) November 15, 2012 - It's been nearly two weeks since Hurricane Sandy blew into the Northeast. While most communities have begun the recovery process, the cries for help can still be heard.

Nashville residents have firsthand knowledge of what it's like to be a victim of Mother Nature, and that's why a group of volunteers are stepping up to help hurricane victims.

"It all started when a bunch of various groups came together and decided to help the survivors," said Jesse McIntyre who coordinates the local Scientology Volunteer Ministers, "Organizations like Hands On Nashville, Roadies that Care and Bridgestone Arena have been very instrumental in making this donation drive happen and we are just happy to be part of it."

Toiletries, batteries, bleach and rubber gloves are a few of the items collected.

McIntyre continued, "A big semi-truck is coming through Nashville on Tuesday to pick up the items we've collected and bring them to the hardest hit areas in the Northeast."
