- Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater, FL (1888PressRelease) July 23, 2013 - On July 30th, the Church of Scientology of Tampa in historic Ybor Square will host an Open House in recognition of International Day of Friendship.
The Church, which restored and moved into the iconic Ybor Square on March 13th 2011, announced that it will share the message of peace and harmony promoted through the United Nations' International Friendship Day initiative. The Open House will be from 10:30 am until 8:30 pm on the 30th July.
Activities will include tours of the restored, historic building, activities for children, as well as a tour through the Church's Information Center where interactive displays will provide answers to questions on the Church and its programs.
The Church is also inviting community groups and non-profit organizations to tour their multi-purpose meeting center and conference rooms which the Church is making available free of charge to these groups for their events and meetings.
Church spokesperson, Mimi Kintzel, said: "We want visitors to find out more about our Church, our beliefs, who we are, what we do and the many humanitarian programs we sponsor and are willing to share with other community groups. The most commonly asked question I hear from others is, 'What is Scientology?' That question will be answered."
"We also want our neighbors to know that they are welcome and that only through communication and understanding can we live together in peace," Kintzel continued. "As the founder of the Scientology religious philosophy once said, 'On the day we can fully trust each other, there will be peace on Earth.'"
