Church of Scientology Host Local Vendors and Community Service People at Holiday Brunch
Continuing their decades-long tradition, on Sunday the 10th of December the Church of Scientology Flag Service Organization hosted over 530 members of the Clearwater community at its annual Holiday Brunch at the Historic Fort Harrison.
- (1888PressRelease) December 15, 2017 - “The event began many years ago as a way to thank our vendors,” said Lisa Mansell, the Church’s Public Affairs Director. “We work with hundreds of local organizations to keep our buildings in shape and provide all of its daily services year round.”
Representatives and staff from fire services, food suppliers, office and hardware suppliers, downtown businesses, tailors, graphics design, freight/mail shipping organizations, construction contractors and their families attended the Holiday Brunch.
Ms. Mansell gave a brief welcome to the Fort Harrison on behalf of the Church of Scientology. “This is a season where the feelings of kindness, patience, goodwill, forgiveness and love toward one’s fellow man are re-inspired and re-invigorated as we look to end one year and leap forward into a new one. In that, we re-dedicate ourselves and our resources to service our community.”
Live entertainment was then performed by the Flag Band and special guest singers, Joanne Andrews and Palmer Dernehl.
Several Holiday themed photo stations were available with professional photographers to capture the moment, a fully decorated Christmas tree, and a miniature Christmas village was on display. Attendees “felt at home” and got a chance to have a great time.
Children attending the event with their families got a visit from Santa. Groups of attendees also lined up to take photos with Santa before leaving.
“The last time I had been at the Fort Harrison was at my senior prom in the 1960’s,” said one guest. “I’m really happy to be back. I really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere.”
The Fort Harrison regularly hosts events for the community. If you would like to be invited to these events, please contact Amber Skjelset at (727) 467-6966 or amber ( @ ) cos dot flag dot org dot
