  • (1888PressRelease) May 23, 2013 - The Centennial Park bandshell is about to cave in from the pressure of everyone heading to the Music City Gospel Festival which is taking place Sunday, May 26 from 10am - 6pm. The headliner for the festival will be Levertt Allison of the Fairfield Four, a group best known for its appearance on the soundtrack and screen in the movie O Brother Where Art Thou. The group continues to perform a cappella and according to the website musiccitygospelfestival.com, "[Fairfield Four] have been singularly important in revitalizing & preserving the oldest style of traditional spiritual and gospel singing."

    Other artists slated to perform include Chimes of Cannon, the Gospel Grannies, Free Spirit Singers, Dewitt Johnson and Friends, Kenny Marable of the Marable Twins and many more. Additionally, the festival will have a Food Tasting Culture Tour which will include a variety of merchants.

    The day promises to be full of soulful gospel music, camaraderie and fun for all.

    Pastor Enoch Fuzz of Corinthian Baptist Church will be the host of the event and it is sponsored and produced by the New Hope Foundation.
