Chronogram to Host Night of the Living Basques Spanish Wine Dinner in Kingston, New York
Chronogram magazine, chronicling life in the Hudson Valley since 1993, continues its 2014 event season with a Spanish Wine Dinner on June 25th.
- Kingston, NY (1888PressRelease) June 06, 2014 - Chronogram, in partnership with Elephant Wine Bar and Kingston Wine Co. have a Spanish wine dinner in store for the Hudson Valley, featuring assorted gourmet tapas by Chef Rich Reeve of Elephant, and Spanish wines paired by Michael Drapkin of Kingston Wine Co.
"Pairing Rich Reeve's revelatory tapas with Michael Drapkin's natural wine selections is a knock-out punch. These two guys are doing some of the most interesting and innovative work in their respective fields," Chronogram Editorial Director Brian K. Mahoney explains. "This dinner is going to be a feast, with smart people, innovative food, and copious amounts of small-batch wines. Why didn't we think of this sooner?"
"Night of the Living Basques" is the second in a series of planned 2014 events for Chronogram. The Hudson Valley can expect a "Full Moon Bocce" event in Beacon on July 12th, and the 2nd Annual Chronogram Block Party scheduled for August 16th in Uptown Kingston.
The food at Elephant challenges-as much a provocation as a culinary accomplishment. "What's the point of trying to please everybody?" asks Reeve. "We can't fit them in here anyway," he says referring to the size of his intimate restaurant.
"Kingston Wine Co. is stoked to collaborate with Elephant because we have similar philosophies about food and wine," say Michael and Theresa Drapkin of Kingston Wine Co. "This is the type of gathering we love participating in: Casual, cool-a table full of food and esoteric wine. So our unofficial theme for the night has been "Roll up your sleeves and dig in. Glasses will be full."
Chronogram's "Night of the Living Basques" will take place on Wednesday, June 25th from 7-10pm at 310 Wall Street in uptown Kingston. All-inclusive admission is $75. Advance ticket sales only.
