  • New York, NY (1888PressRelease) December 14, 2010 - Christopher Miele of North Caldwell, N.J., has joined the business development team at North Plainfield-based Levin Management Corporation, announced Matthew K. Harding, president and chief operating officer. The retail real estate services firm serves as leasing and/or managing agent for a 12.5 million-square-foot portfolio with 90 properties.

Miele comes to Levin from the automotive industry, where he has 15 years of marketing and management experience with luxury brands including Ferrari, Maserati and Mercedes Benz. The move to real estate is a natural career shift, he noted.

"Purchasers of shopping centers, whether institutional or private, are interested in seeing the best possible return on their investments. Levin's approach to property management is to provide all the services these centers need to be successful, and to do so at a price point that doesn't negatively affect ROI."

According to Harding, Miele's experience is a great fit for Levin. "He has extensive experience and background in the high performance auto business," Harding explained. "In that business, working with client needs and demands entailed a level of precision and quick response to satisfy customers' requirements. This is very similar to the caliber of service that our clients require - responsiveness and a depth of knowledge that can address a broad range of challenges and situations with rapid resolution. Miele, who joined us this fall, is already demonstrating the commitment, attitude, expertise and integrity that reflect the way that Levin has always done business."

Levin offers a full range of services for its clients including leasing, property management, accounting, construction management, marketing and risk management. The firm is an outgrowth of Levin Properties, a development firm founded in 1952, which created an extensive portfolio of retail properties throughout the nation (including New Jersey's first open-air shopping center).

From these roots, Levin evolved to deliver third-party management services to retail property owners beginning in the 1980s. The company experienced consistent growth and expansion into new geographic areas. Today, Levin's clients are institutional, fiduciary and individual owners with retail properties in the northeast and mid-Atlantic regions. Levin's management style, encapsulated in the firm's slogan, "We Think Like an Owner," employs a hands-on, proactive strategy to leasing and managing properties.

"This company's longevity and experience has earned it an incredible reputation," Miele said. "With significant changes underway, the retail real estate industry is presenting great opportunities for high-net-worth individuals and organizations to get involved. Levin is a leading authority and practitioner, and is well positioned to maximize the potential of investments for seasoned real estate investors as well as those newer to the field."

Miele is a member if the International Council of Shopping Centers. He currently is taking continuing education courses at the NYU Schack Institute of Real Estate. He is married with two young daughters.
