About Christopher M. Kane
Mr. Kane has been private practice for 27 years. Previously, he spent sixteen years at the Federal Maritime Commission. Involved in ADD/CVD matters throughout his career in private practice, in 1994, he appeared before the first NAFTA panel. He has won exclusions of various products from ADD/CVD cases, secured settlements with the Department of Commerce, and dismissals at the U.S. International Trade Commission regarding Manganese Sulfate from China and Ni Resist Piston Inserts from Argentina. He has achieved recognition by CBP that certain products were not within the scope of an ADD order based on origin and the doctrine of substantial transformation. He has presented arguments concerning upstream and downstream products, made scope requests, made prior disclosures to CBP and sought CBP rulings relative to ADD/CVD assessments.
