China Updates Product Standard for Handbags and Knapsacks
China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has updated it product standard for handbags and knapsacks. The new standard came into effect on September 1, 2018.
- (1888PressRelease) October 23, 2018 - The Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has updated its product standard for handbags and knapsacks – QB/T 1333. The latest version, QB/T 1333-2018 replaces QB/T 1333-2010.
The primary differences between the 2018 iteration and the previous 2010 version are:
• Superior grade requirements deleted
• Specification requirement deleted
• Fastener durability, plastic buckle durability and flexing resistance of straps requirements added
• Volume measurement method added
• Shaking impact requirement revised – changed the specified load to base on volume
• Accessory requirements revised – changed the item name to lock durability
• Colour fastness to rubbing requirement and method revised
• Seam strength requirement and method revised
• Hardware fitting corrosion resistance requirement revised

The new standard was issued on May 8, 2018 and came into effect on September 1, 2018.
