China Trade Commission Welcomes Major League Baseball To Beijing This Weekend
The CTC agrees to support MLB expansion into China by sponsoring a Little League Team in Haidian District.
- (1888PressRelease) June 12, 2012 - Today the CTC PR office issued the following public invitation: The China Trade Commission invites boys and girls of all ages for a day of FREE fun and adventure at JiYuan New Yansha mall in Haidian to meet Major League Baseball from America, some famous players and learn about America's oldest and most popular sports game.
Take your turn in the batting cage and see how fast you can throw a ball with the MLB's radar gun. There will be games, free prizes, and autograph sessions. In view of the above, the China Trade Commission has agreed to actively support major league baseball in Beijing by recruiting, sponsoring, and providing coaches for a little league team in Haidian District of Beijing. While Baseball is currently a big craze in Japan, Korea, and Taiwan, it is new to mainland China which has yet to produce a baseball star player. The CTC expects this will change soon and baseball will become as popular as basketball once a Yao Min of baseball emerges into the spotlight.
