China's Ninth International Garden Expo and opening of China's first Garden Museum
The Ninth China International Garden Expo has opened in Beijing for 6 months starting on the 18th May 2013.
- (1888PressRelease) May 25, 2013 - The Expo will host garden styles from 69 cities all over China, including Suzhou, Urumqi and Guiyang. The expo will also host garden styles from 37 cities of 29 countries from around the world, including the UK and South Korea. There are a total of 128 exhibition parks in the Expo, covering a size of 513 hectares. The Expo will take place alongside Beijing's largest river, the Yongding River, in the southern Beijing districts of Fengtai and Daxing. At the Expo, learn about China's diverse horticulture, China's plans to become green and China's skills and tips for plant upkeep.
Alongside the Expo, China's first national-level garden museum, the Museum of Chinese Gardens, will open to the public on the 18th May. The museum has been set up to resemble the Yuan Ming Yuan Gardens in north Beijing, the former summer residence of the Qing Dynasty Emperors. The museum contains six gardens, nine indoor exhibitions and a collection of 5,000 objects.
