  • Atlanta, GA (1888PressRelease) September 07, 2016 - Children's Charities was founded by Amanda White and Lauren Holmes, two businesswomen who sought to make a difference in their North Fulton & South Forsyth communities. Inspired by a health scare when White's daughter almost died trying to get to a children's hospital, they realized the need for more quality children care in their area. While the child fully recovered, their shared desire to make a difference only grew.

With only two main fundraisers each year, the non-profit organization makes sure that they count. The next two planned fundraising events include:
    • Mailbox Décor Sales - This annual fundraiser has grown exponentially through the years and is hugely anticipated as it decorates mailboxes throughout the area during the holiday season. It has become almost competitive to see which neighborhood can have the most mailboxes decorated.
    • Designing for a Difference - A Clarity Farm Showcase Home and Tour will take place on April 19-23, 2017. Located in the Milton area, this beautiful home will be designed by architect Tim Bryan (Bryan Residential Planning), built by Jason Cole (Cole Constructions), and designed and decorated by Pacita Wilson (Pineapple Park).

The charitable beneficiaries in 2017 will be an all-inclusive play park project in the City of Milton with a goal to help fund equipment, programs and services to benefit community children.

Since 2012, Children's Charities has been able to raise more than $500,000. These funds have gone towards purchasing an emergency transport vehicle, eye tracking devices for the early detection of Autism, cell phone charging stations in urgent care centers around the state, and four state-of-the-art vein viewers for Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. Children's Charities has also developed an Equine Summer Camp for kids with Autism, provided Thanksgiving dinners to needy families, sponsored lunches for the mentoring program at Independence High School and sponsored Cure Childhood Cancer.

Sponsors for the Clarity Farm Showhouse Home and Tour include SubZero & Wolf Appliances and Ferguson Plumbing.
