Children's Champions "Resonate" in San Antonio
Children's Hunger Fund recognizes local star, David Robinson for his work championing the educational needs of children at its annual Children's Champion Award Celebration Banquet.
- San Antonio, TX (1888PressRelease) October 15, 2010 - Tears of laughter, tears of gratitude, and tears of empathy for hurting children dampened the cheeks of those who attended the Children's Champion Award Celebration Banquet. Hosted by San Antonio relief organization, Children's Hunger Fund, RESONATE was the theme for the gala, honoring those who've committed their lives to "catch the teardrops" of children in need.
The event was held at Pedrotti's North Wind Ranch on Saturday, October 9, 2010, and hosted by popular pastor and author Francis Chan. Local champion David Robinson was honored for his work meeting the educational needs of children through The Carver Academy, the school he and his wife founded in 2001. Other honorees include Michael and Carol Hart, founders of ZOE International Ministries, and Carlos Pimentel, Executive VP of Esperanza International.
The Children's Champion Award recognizes those who use their positions of influence in government, business, public life, and charity to ensure that children-children they may never meet-would receive hope against the odds.
Recognizing that tears and sympathy are just a start-gala attendees committed to pray for those people Children's Hunger Fund helps and to give financial gifts toward the work. The night closed with the sound of chimes, as guests demonstrated their support by ringing chimes throughout the gala hall-chimes that represent a commitment to RESONATE in the life of needy children across America and around the world.
The banquet, presented by CHF staff and volunteers, was underwritten and sponsored by USANA Health Sciences, Inc.
