- (1888PressRelease) October 05, 2011 - In The Adventures of Sasha and Malia at The White House, the first children follow a glowing ball of light to the White House library, where they step behind a moving bookshelf and find themselves 150 years in the past. The handsome and magical Hosiah has summoned them back in time. He needs their help to get his friend Frederick Douglass out of captivity, so that he can bring the first draft of the Emancipation Proclamation to Abraham Lincoln. They discover that without the Emancipation Proclamation, their father Barack Obama could never have become president.
"In this wonderfully entertaining and educational story, Sasha and Malia go back in time to help Frederick Douglass end slavery in America. In the process, they learn a lot about how the world has changed, the magic of childhood, and the values of life. It brings adult ideas to life for young minds, and inspires them to be part of positive changes in the world. The Adventures of Sasha and Malia at The White House is a book every young child should read."-Danny Glover, Actor and Activist
