Children's apparel firm Tuff Kookoshka launches new SeaCozy fleece line
Tuff Kookooshka, the US-based children's apparel firm, recently announced the launch of the SeaCozy, its latest must-have accessory for kids.
- (1888PressRelease) October 29, 2014 - The SeaCozy pays homage to New England's famous beaches - where playful seals, majestic whales, and even a mermaid or two may be spotted!
The SeaCozy is designed for toddlers through elementary school-aged children and is an adorable alternative to an ordinary throw. The SeaCozy is a fun way to keep kids warm on a boat trip at dusk, during late summer afternoons on a chilly beach, at backyard bonfires, or on movie nights snuggled on the couch.
Two distinct designs are available. First, things get a just little wild with the SeaCozy Shark, which is cleverly designed to resemble a comical, hungry predator. Next, the SeaCozy Mermaid will satisfy every little girl's desire to become a breathtaking, fabled mermaid!
Both SeaCozy designs are available in either medium or long. Crafted of Polartec fleece produced in the USA, each SeaCozy is hand-crafted in coastal Fall River, Massachusetts. Each is also individually sewn by American craftsmen using locally manufactured notions. 100% Made in the USA.
The SeaCozy is just the latest product offering from the popular Tuff Kookooshka line of fine children's apparel. Tuff Kookooshka is nationally known for its endearing and unique character coats, hats, pullovers, mittens, and scarves.
Founded in 1999, Tuff Kookooshka is the brainchild of Anastassia Gonye, a Russian-born, American artist and fashion designer. "I started to design my line at my kitchen table, sewing in the basement, using discarded fabrics sold by the factory by the pound," explains Gonye.
Although Gonye's firm had humble beginnings, she actually comes from a long line of noted designers. Her mother worked in ateliers of the leading couture houses in Moscow, where she designed fabulous embroidery. In addition, she created stunning costumes worn by the Olympic figure skating champions of the day. Gonye's grandparents were both theater artists for The Russian Theater in St. Petersburg. Her family's impressive body of work inspires her designs to this day.
Over the last 15 years, Gonye has come a long way from sketching designs at her kitchen table! Today, the Tuff Kookooshka line is sold in fine children's stores and boutiques throughout the US, Canada, and Japan. In addition, Tuff Kookooshka operates two holiday pop-up retail locations in Chelsea Market and Grand Central Station in New York City. The SeaCozy line, however, is available only at Tuff Kookooshka pop-up stores and online at Kookooshka (dot) com.
