Chic Meets Street at St. Pete Art & Fashion Week 2015
St. Pete Art & Fashion Week (SPAFW), a series of social events, art exhibits, and runway fashion shows will be hosted at various venues throughout St. Petersburg during September 14th through 19th.

St. Pete Art & Fashion Week holds a weeklong promise of remarkable events. The week begins with an "Opening Night VIP Soiree" on Monday, September 14th at The Raw Studios followed by a "Boutique Style Night" event on Tuesday, September 15th at Cerulean Blu. Wednesday, September 16th will hold the "Making of the Runway" occasion, in which the public is invited to watch and participate in the creation of the runway's design. Thursday's experience will feature local photographers getting together to collaborate for a photo shoot with SPAFW models, followed by the opening of Genius Central's doors for an art show on Friday, September 18th. The show, entitled "Art Inspired," will feature the works of local artists. The week will then conclude at One Progress Plaza on Saturday, September 19th with the main event, a runway fashion show inspired by the graffiti and diverse art scenes found around Downtown St. Petersburg.
This year, the runway fashion show will feature designs by Misly Beltinor, Boutique La Rochelle, Allison Elizabeth Designs, Kalaxpress, Curb Gear, Floridita Swimwear, Shola Designs, and VnC Vazsan new Creation.
"St. Petersburg is home to so many talented individuals; a destination for the creative soul," said founder of St. Pete Art & Fashion Week, Dona Crowley. "The goal of St. Pete Art & Fashion Week is to designate a week each year to celebrate our love for the city and those who make it so remarkable."
Admission to each of the week's events varies per event. Tickets are available online for discounted prices prior to the event week. A limited number of VIP wristbands are available for $100. Wristbands guarantee access to all events throughout the week, including the "Opening Night VIP Soiree" on Monday evening, which provides exclusivity to guests with wristbands only, along with front row seating for Saturday's main event. Wristbands also guarantee discounts at select hotels, restaurants, bars and boutiques in downtown St. Petersburg during the week of September 14th through 19th.
The Warehouse Arts District Association, this year's SPAFW beneficiary, has launched an innovative plan to expand and preserve a growing artists' colony within an industrial warehouse district in St. Petersburg. Earlier this year, the nonprofit purchased the former "Ace Recycling Compound," and converted the 50,000-square-foot facility, into "The ArtsXchange," which will offer an affordable working space for artists of all mediums. Association members hope to raise $200,000 in order to move into the next phase of the project.
"The development of the ArtsXchange will ensure that there is affordable studio space for artists in St. Petersburg as the city continues to develop," said president of the Warehouse Arts District Association Mark Aeling. "We are honored to be part of this year's St. Pete Art & Fashion Week."
