The addition of a Marketplace shortly after launching last year provided students with an avenue to find renters for summer subletting and furniture for their new off campus apartments. A digital off-campus student housing guide was also released this past spring that included information about local housing, neighborhoods and landlords in Philadelphia.

The new features have created valuable revenue streams for the cofounders by connecting Chattersource's student community with local property managers. Landlords are able to post apartment availabilities in the Marketplace for a small fee or purchase advertising space within the housing guide to reach students in search of off-campus housing in Philadelphia.

Chattersource will continue to analyze its current revenue model during the second half of this year as more students register in preparation for the upcoming fall semester.
