Bangkok's tourism industry has been dogged by protests in recent months. However, Accor and one of its flagship properties in Bangkok, Chateau de Bangkok, expect to see a rebound in Thai tourism and are putting their money where their mouth is.
(1888PressRelease) April 23, 2009 - Chateau de Bangkok, a boutique Bangkok hotel, and its parent company, Accor, are backing the long-term viability of the Thai tourism industry. Accor is developing four new properties in Thailand, while Chateau de Bangkok is revolutionizing service standards and continuing to improve its offering, even in the current climate.
Chateau de Bangkok expects that a raft of tourism initiatives in recent times, including the scrapping of visa fees, discounted aircraft landing fees, the promotion of Sukhumvit as part of the 'Buddhist Circuit' for travelers, and the current 'Amazing Thailand, Amazing Value' campaign, will see visitor numbers to the boutique Bangkok hotel remain steady through turbulent economic times.
Mrs. Somrudee Nooner, Director of Sales and Marketing at Chateau de Bangkok, said "We have an excellent base to build from - Thailand came second in the ITTN awards in Dublin this year, and four of the top five hotels in the Conde Nast Reader's Traveler Awards were located in Thailand.
"Our hotel is also highly regarded, with a high percentage of repeat business and a ranking in the top 20% of hotels in Bangkok. We're building on that with some very well-received specials and bonuses", Mrs. Nooner continued.
Chateau de Bangkok's recent bonuses and packages for guests include:
• A discounted special rate on Junior suites
• Newly renovated function room
• A unique inter-ordering policy with the two restaurants, Panorama and Paparazzi, that allows customers to order from either.
• A new service policy and uniform changes to help make guests feel more comfortable
Weerasak Kowsurat, Tourism Authority of Thailand's chairman, said "We remain the best destination for value for money [in the region] and that counts for a lot, especially when the world economy is going bad".
