Charity Learning Consortium and Kineo partner to enhance charity eLearning
The Charity Learning Consortium (CLC), which enables eLearning in the Third Sector, is proud to announce that it is now the official charity partner to Kineo, the leading eLearning and LMS provider. The two organisations have been working together to move the CLC's eLearning suite onto a Moodle LMS platform, enabling even greater collaboration between charity members.
- (1888PressRelease) April 05, 2011 - The Charity Learning Consortium (CLC), the largest group of charities in the UK that collaborates to make eLearning affordable, and Kineo, leaders in eLearning and LMS through Moodle and Totara LMS, have been working together to provide access to the CLC's eLearning suite via the open source platform.
Kineo is also assisting charity members of the Consortium to use Moodle to design bespoke learning and skills solutions. Now the two organisations have declared a partnership, with the CLC becoming Kineo's official charity partner.
The move to Moodle, the World's most used Learning Management System (LMS), was a popular request from charity members of the Consortium. Martin Baker, MD and founder of the Consortium, explains: "The CLC prides itself on its customer care, listening to the needs of our charity members, and we were happy to develop in this way."
As the Consortium continues to grow, it makes perfect sense for members to be on the same platform, which will enable them to increasingly share courseware and resources: "Now that we have more than 80 members, if one charity is developing a piece of eLearning, then another charity in the group is probably interested in partnering with them," said Martin.
"Increasingly we are seeing our members share resources in this way, which is one of the benefits of joining the Consortium. It's what we call the ripple effect - members invariably join to make eLearning affordable, but networking with other charities, which are all striving towards similar goals with limited budgets, becomes invaluable. I always say that collaboration is at the heart of what we do, and with Kineo's specialist help, we're making collaboration between our members even easier with Moodle."
Kineo were the obvious choice of partner for the move over to Moodle, he said: "We have really valued Kineo's expertise both in re-launching our courseware onto a Moodle platform, and working with our charity members. This partnership announcement really cements an already well established working relationship."
Steve Rayson, Kineo Managing Director said that his staff thoroughly enjoyed working with charities: "The willingness of those in the Third Sector to collaborate with one another is really striking, and it makes sense for them to be able to share content on the same platform. Migration onto the Moodle platform is entirely free for existing members of the CLC. New members can automatically access the Consortium's extensive range of eLearning courseware and resources via Moodle.
