Change Your World: Positive Impact Of A Model, Marine And Ministry
SustainU's Clothing Line to Support Diverse Humanitarian Efforts.
- Morgantown, WV (1888PressRelease) October 05, 2011 - SustainU, a leading producer of high quality apparel using fabrics made from 100% recycled materials manufactured in the US, today announces the launching of its limited edition Change Your World clothing line, a collection of designer Tees meant to educate and mobilize people to action.
SustainU has partnered with non-profit organizations Nuru International, Kids for Tomorrow, and World Orphans to raise money for causes that are changing the world.
"SustainU is proud to bring together people and causes that are fighting extreme poverty, educating children in the urban slums and rescuing orphans from slavery and trafficking," said SustainU CEO, Chris Yura. "We hope to generate some synergy and momentum for their amazing and important work through these limited edition shirts."
Each non-profit organization worked with SustainU to design a unique, limited edition T-shirt to be sold in the Change Your World section of the SustainU online store. Organizations will receive $10 for each shirt sold.
Nuru International is committed to ending extreme poverty through holistic, sustainable and scalable community empowerment initiatives led by local leaders.
"I've seen first-hand how extreme poverty forces people to make desperate decisions - like fight on behalf of terrorist groups - because they have no other way to provide for their families who are starving and suffering," said Jake Harriman, former Marine Special Operations Commander and Founder/CEO of Nuru International. "Our vision at Nuru is to create a world where the extreme poor have the choice to determine their future. Partnering with SustainU opens the door for many more people to join our fight to end extreme poverty."
Kids for Tomorrow assists students in the slums of Nairobi through educational initiatives that build schools, sponsor students, and provide funding for supplies and books.
"I started Kids for Tomorrow after seeing the will and drive of the children in Kenya wanting an education," said Samantha Tannehill, Cover Girl and 2002 CHANEL New Model of the Year. "We are thrilled to be part of the inaugural Change Your World line and look forward to the energy it will create for each organization."
World Orphans helps indigenous churches in developing countries to rescue and care for orphaned and abandoned children and to end the cycle of poverty, HIV/AIDS, trafficking, prostitution and slavery in developing countries.
"World Orphans is built on partnerships all over the world. We know we need to work together to combat the worst orphans crises our world has ever seen," said Paul Myhill, CEO/President, "and the Change Your World campaign is a small step in that direction."
The Change Your World Line is now available at SustainUclothing.com/shop while supplies last.
