Champions Group invites Corporates to join Bangalore's Unique "Midnight Marathon" promoting "Run for Green" on December 11th, 2010.
- (1888PressRelease) December 09, 2010 - Bangalore, India's IT Capital, has of late been hosting marathons regularly and its citizens have been enthusiastically participating in them in large numbers. Scores of companies, particularly from the IT, ITES and BT sectors, participate in these Marathons in large numbers for improving their brand visibility and team-building while effectively demonstrating their corporate social responsibility by associating with the city's issues.
Mr. Subhakar Rao, Chairman of Champions Group today announced the Midnight Marathon Corporate Relay, an innovative new addition to the event created as a part of the Midnight Marathon 2010. The Corporate relay gives corporate entities an opportunity to participate in the marathon as a team of eight. As the Name suggests it is a relay. The teams have to complete the marathon by dividing the distance between eight people. This will extend Corporate CSR activity towards saving the environment and Going Green participating in this "Run for Green" themed midnight marathon. This marathon is one of its kind in the world, being the only marathon that runs in the middle of the night.
"It is no coincidence that Bangalore has achieved this distinction of being called the Digital Capital of the new flat world. It is the hard work, perseverance and tenacity of our young workforce who work day & night, round the clock to keep our economy growing. They toil while rest sleep. They make all us Bangaloreans proud.", he said. This event is arranged with Rotary Bangalore (RBITC) and is an Unique Midnight Marathon, the only one of it's kind in the world. Over 6000 participated in the Marathon last year. This year we expect an even larger participation and excitement,already 35 international athletes from across the world have identified their participation in the Marathon. It will be held in Whitefield IT Corridor, in line with the spirit of the event starting at 7pm from Sigma Tech Park on Saturday, December 11th.
A Marathon is a very grueling race and it is not possible for most people to complete the race, thus the team event where the distance is shared, endured and completed by a team of Eight people. "This corporate relay marathon event gives corporate entities a chance to participate in the Midnight Marathon as a team and fulfill their team building and brand objectives" Mr. Subhakar Rao said.
