Chaminade University of Honolulu will offer innovative nursing education enhanced by EMS' simulation technology
Education Management Solutions (EMS) will provide simulation management technology to Chaminade University of Honolulu's Nursing School to help facilitate its growing enrollment and nursing curriculum.
- Philadelphia, PA-NJ (1888PressRelease) August 03, 2011 - Chaminade University of Honolulu Nursing School made an ambitious $14 million investment in the future of nursing education through the renovation of The Dr. & Mrs. Lawrence D.W. (BoHing Chan) Tseu Center for Nurse Education. With goals to manage its increasing student body and to meet high standards of nursing performance, Chaminade has selected Education Management Solutions (EMS) to equip its laboratory space with EMS' clinical simulation management solution. EMS' technology will help prepare Chaminade nursing students with the knowledge and skills they need to provide safe, high-quality patient care.
According to Dr. Stephanie Genz, the Dean of Nursing, "In a concerted effort to meet the education needs of nursing students at Chaminade, simulation is a teaching and learning strategy that is being integrated throughout the curriculum. Simulation is being used as a supplement to, rather than a substitute for, real-world clinical experiences." With EMS' simulation management solution Chaminade nursing students will have the opportunity to practice interactive and reflective learning through digitally recorded simulated events, debriefing, skills evaluation, and competency measurement.
The Dr. and Mrs. Lawrence D.W. (BoHing Chan) Tseu Center for Nurse Education is comprised of two large nursing skills laboratories with a total of 16 patient beds, computer and instructional rooms, and a state-of-the-art human simulator suite utilizing high-fidelity simulators. The EMS solution will also streamline the Center's operations, such as scheduling and inventory management so that educators can focus on what they do best: educate and train the next generation of nurses, leading to improved patient care in the real world.
