Chalak Mitra Group of Companies' Jamaica Tallawahs Cricket Team to play Florida matches with Caribbean Premier League
The Jamaica Tallawahs, Jamaica's representative team in the Caribbean Premier League, will play a match in Florida, USA.
- Dallas, TX (1888PressRelease) April 27, 2016 - The Jamaica Tallawahs, the inaugural champions of the first Caribbean Premier League season, will arrive in Miami at the end of July to take part in the final six games of the CPL season before the start of the playoffs. These games are the first that will take place on U.S. soil and will be played at the Central Broward Regional Park in Lauderhill, Fla.
However, the Tallawahs already have roots in the United States.The team was recently acquired by the Chalak Mitra Group of Companies, an investment group based in Dallas, Texas as part of their portfolio diversification.
The Chalak Mitra Group of Companies managing directors, Manish Patel and Ron Parikh, were able to take their love of the game of cricket and translate it into action, by purchasing the Tallawahs.

Under the ownership of the Chalak Mitra Group of Companies, the Jamaica Tallawahs hope to soon reclaim their titleas the Caribbean Premier League champions. They are among the favorites given their draft of prolific batsman Chris "global boss" Gayle, the legendary Sri Lankan wicket keeper Kumar Sangakkara, who has scored the second most runs in the history of international cricket, andhas multiple world record holder and current number one all-rounder Shakib al Hasan.
The league participates in the Twenty20 form of cricket which involves a faster game pace and time-limited innings in an effort to be less time consuming and more attractive to the casual fan.
The six games in Miami will take place from July 28 to 31before moving on to the playoffphase. The Tallawahs' first game will be on Saturday, July 30, at noon against the St. Lucia Zouks. The Tallawahs will then play the Zouks again on July 31 in the afternoon as the last game in a doubleheader.
