Certified Jewelers Supports Juvenile Diabetes Research at Lucas Cup
Certified Jewelers, a Naples-based jeweler known for high-quality handcrafted pieces, estate jewelry and repairs, is proud to have been a part of the Lucas Cup, an annual fundraiser hosted by the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).
- Tucson, AZ (1888PressRelease) March 18, 2014 - The 2nd Annual event, held at Talis Park Country Club, was attended by both professional athletes and local community members and business owners on Sunday, March 9, 2014.
The Lucas Cup began in 2013 as a fundraiser for Juvenile Diabetes, and continued this year as a much-anticipated event in which both celebrities and local supporters of JDRF could come together to support a great cause. The event ran two days, Sunday and Monday, March 9-10, and gave guests the opportunity to meet, greet and play a round of golf with PGA Tour golf pros. Mark Lye, host of the event, named the Lucas Cup after his son, who was diagnosed with Juvenile Diabetes at the age of four. This event is held in honor of him as a fundraiser for medical research for type 1 diabetes.
"The Lucas Cup is a wonderful event, and we were so glad to be a part of promoting research for type 1 diabetes," said John Gast, President of Certified Jewelers. "Seeing so many people come together for this cause was inspiring, and we are hopeful for the future of medical research at JDRF."
Certified Jewelers was proud to contribute an item for the live auction - a custom-made 11-carat diamond necklace. The necklace, called "The Circles of Love," was designed especially for this auction by Certified Jewelers and was among several auction items, the total of which raised thousands of dollars for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Along with former supermodel Cheryl Tiegs, Certified Jewelers Owner Rick Grimes and President John Gast presented this item and were thrilled to take part in this event.
More information on the event can be found at www.thelucascup.com.
