CEO of Softtek Mexico Named to Hispanic IT Executive Council's prestigious "HITEC 50"
Carlos Funes recognized as one of Latin American IT's 50 Most Influential Professionals.
- New York, NY (1888PressRelease) March 24, 2012 - Softtek, founder of the nearshore industry and leading global IT services provider dedicated to maximizing the business value of applications, announced that the company's CEO of Mexico and Central America, Carlos Funes, has been named to the Hispanic Information Technology Executive Council (HITEC)'s prestigious HITEC 50 list.
HITEC is a premiere global executive leadership organization of senior business and IT executives. Since 2011, HITEC has compiled a comprehensive list featuring the top 50 most influential and notable professionals in the IT industry in Latin America. Carlos was recognized at this year's HITEC 50 awards dinner and gala, which was held on Thursday, March 22, 2012 in Miami, Florida at the Hilton Miami Biscayne Bay.
After joining Softtek in 1988, Carlos Funes served as Vice President of Global Accounts and, later, as Vice President of Business Development for Mexico and Central America before he took on the role of CEO in 2011. His greatest contributions to Softtek include expanding Softtek's presence in new markets across the Americas, Europe, and Asia; and unifying client experience for key global accounts across geographies.

In 2011 Funes oversaw significant expansion of Softtek's business in the Mexican domestic market, which is projected to continue in 2012, as evidenced by the opening of new Mexico City facilities, and future expansion of the company's operations in Guadalajara, the country's second largest city.
