Central Texas Solar Rallies to Restore Energy Freedom for Senior San Antonio Resident
After Mrs. Solis, a San Antonio homeowner, was left with a $4,200 electric bill and an undersized solar system from a now-defunct company, Central Texas Solar stepped in. They donated materials, labor, expertise and solar panels needed to bring her system to maximum capacity.
- San Antonio, TX (1888PressRelease) December 19, 2024 - In an inspiring show of community support, Central Texas Solar has answered the call to help Mrs. Solis, San Antonio resident, who purchased an undersized solar system. Burdened by both a solar loan and a growing $4,200 electric bill from CPS Energy, Mrs. Solis found herself without the energy savings she was promised. In response, Central Texas Solar has stepped in to upgrade her system. They donated essential equipment, time, labor, and additional solar panels to bring her system to full efficiency.
“We believe in doing what’s right for our community,” said Leo Kapici, Owner and CEO of Central Texas Solar. “We’re stepping up to make sure that no homeowner is left with a system that doesn't work for them. Mrs. Solis’s story is just the beginning of our commitment to offering real solutions, not just sales.”
San Antonio, Texas mayoral candidate Beto Altamirano visited the Solis family along with the Central Texas Solar crew last week during their PTO Party (Permission to Operate) for their new solar panels curtesy of Central Texas Solar to learn more about the issues and challenges that the Solis family and the solar industry faces in our community. “Sustainability has always been at the core of our policy plan. Solar energy is crucial as we become more sustainable.” said Beto. “We have to double down on solar energy, not just here in San Antonio but across Texas and across the country, and companies like Central Texas Solar are doing the work. Let’s not give up on that idea.”
Mrs. Solis’s story, unfortunately, highlights a trend of high-pressure solar sales that often leave homeowners with systems that fall short of their energy needs. Because there are several members in the home that have special health requirements, Central Texas Solar, known for its customer-centered approach, is not only upgrading her system but has also launched a GoFundMe campaign to raise $4,200 to relieve her of her outstanding electric bill, allowing her to truly benefit from solar energy savings.
Mrs. Solis’s GoFundMe page will directly fund her CPS Energy bill, lifting a heavy financial burden that she has carried since the installation of her original system. Community members who wish to support this campaign can donate at

This endeavor would not be possible without the generous support of ABC Supply who contributed resources, expertise, and time to ensure Mrs. Solis receives a system that finally meets her energy needs.
With this community effort, Central Texas Solar hopes to set a new standard in the industry, demonstrating that solar should be accessible, reliable, and beneficial for everyone. Mrs. Solis’s story shines a light on the company’s mission to provide ethical, personalized solar solutions throughout Central Texas.
