The Center for Autism and Related Disorders, Inc. (CARD), a worldwide leader of state-of-the-art autism therapy announced today it will donate proceeds from new user subscriptions of Skills, to actress and autism advocate Jenny McCarthy's non-profit organization Generation Rescue. Generation Rescue is dedicated to recovery for children with autism spectrum disorders by providing education, medical assistance and treatment to directly improve the child's quality of life for all families in need.
Outlining a shared vision for the future of effective autism treatment, CARD founder and executive director and Skills co-creator Dr. Doreen Granpeesheh says the proceeds from new user subscriptions to Skills will be donated to Generation Rescue, during the week of the AutismOne/Generation Rescue conference held on May 25-29, 2011 at The Westin Hotel in Lombard, Illinois.
Parents and practitioners can log onto www.skillsglobal.com and register for a free 14-day trial version of Skills, using promo code Gen11. CARD will donate proceeds from the paid subscriptions to Generation Rescue.
"I am pleased that Skills can play a vital role in Generation Rescue's mission," says Dr. Granpeesheh. "My initial intent in developing Skills was to empower both parents and professionals. I want to provide the highest quality training, the most accurate assessment, and the most comprehensive curriculum for children with autism."
Skills is a program designed to give parents and practitioners of children with autism access to the most comprehensive assessment of a child's development available. The results of the assessment are linked directly to a set of eight curricula that provide individualized lesson plans with step-by-step instructions for teaching children with autism the skills they need. In addition, Skills provides charts and graphs that track treatment progress and the impact of various events (including other treatments and life events) on the child's progress.
