Cellbond sponsor International IRCOBI Conference on the Biomechanics of Injury 2018
Cellbond announces sponsorship of IRCOBI Conference for fourth year running and demonstrates advanced Pedestrian Legform Impactor (aPLI) to researchers into biomechanics of injury.
- (1888PressRelease) September 11, 2018 - Cellbond are delighted to announce that they are sponsoring the International IRCOBI Conference on the Biomechanics of Injury 2018 for the fourth year running.
The Conference, which is taking place at the Royal Olympic Hotel in Athens, Greece, from 12th to 14th September, is aimed at researchers in the fields of biomechanics, crash mechanics, blast and sport injury, tissue modelling, epidemiology, accident reconstruction, accident avoidance, biomechanics of injury and human protective systems.
IRCOBI is made up of representatives from Europe and the United States and has been conducting an annual international scientific conference in Europe since 1973, reviewing new knowledge on human tolerance to impact. The peer-reviewed proceedings of these meetings are recognized internationally as an important source of knowledge on impact biomechanics and crash injury studies. The organisation exists to encourage research on impact biomechanics and injury mechanisms, to provide a forum for sharing these research findings, to serve as an advisory body, to foster and encourage young researchers and to improve the scientific basis on which safety and crashworthiness standards are formulated.
Managing Director, Dr Mike Ashmead, said, “Cellbond’s focus for the IRCOBI Conference this year is on Pedestrian Protection. Trends for higher bumper vehicles have resulted in the need for a new type of legform to accurately test biomechanics of the human leg on impact with such vehicles. Cellbond has been working in collaboration with International Working Group ISO/TC22/SC36/WG5&WG6 to produce the advanced Pedestrian Leg Impactor (aPLI) and we will have the impactor and launcher with us in Athens to demonstrate to the delegates.”
