Starwood Hotels and Resorts hosted ASIA-PACIFIC GM conference
At the Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel & Towers.
- (1888PressRelease) June 30, 2011 - Recently, Mr. Frits Van Paasschen , Chief Executive Officer of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide and his Senior Leadership Team flew straight to Thailand to attend the annual Starwood General Manager Conference that was held at the Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel & Towers. On this occasion, they were warmly welcomed by the Hotel's Managing Director Mr. Wayne Buckingham and Mr. Miguel Koh , Chairman & President of Starwood's Asia Pacific Division
The 2011 Starwood GM conference gathered more than 600 top executives from Starwood Hotels & Resorts across Asia-Pacific. Mr. Van Passchen and the Senior Leadership Team attended the conference as part of their month-long relocation of the global headquarters to Shanghai, China. Under the theme 'Path to Peak', Starwood reinforces its positioning as the Global's leading hotel and leisure company and the largest high-end hotel operator in China with more than 70 existing hotels and a pipeline of over 90 new hotels. China is now Starwood's second largest hotel market in the world, behind only the United States, and in 2011, Starwood will open one hotel every two weeks in China.
Currently, Starwood Hotels & Resorts operate 16 hotels in Thailand and 8 under the pipeline.
