The finished 4 x 6 foot canvas will be on display during the 23rd Annual Las Olas Art Fair this weekend, October 23 - 24, for all festival goers to enjoy. Afterwards, the children's masterpiece will be prominently displayed at the school. "The idea is to introduce the students to a successful professional aritist who expresses himself through art and makes a great living at it," says festival promoter Howard Alan. "The children will hopefully feel a sense of pride at seeing their work on display during the art festival, which is a top ranked show drawing thousands of locals and tourists each year."
About the Festival:
The work of the nation's most talented artists will be on display and available for sale during the Las Olas Art Fair. The artistic media represented include paintings, sculptures, photography, glass, wood, jewelry, collage, and ceramics with prices ranging from $25 hand-designed earrings to $20,000 metal sculptures.
Howard Alan Events, producer of the finest juried art shows in South Florida and around the country has supported the arts and artists for decades and is now partnering with the Mental Health Association of Broward County (MHA) to promote healing through artistic expression. Members of the 9Muse Art Center, one of the many programs and services provided by the MHA, will be joining the more than 150 leading artists from around the country who will be exhibiting their work during the two-day art fair.
This year, in support of Breast Cancer Awareness month all artists and festival goers are asked to wear pink in a show of solidarity.
The artists, juried by an independent panel of expert judges, are hand-selected from hundreds of applicants based on quality and diversity. All of their artwork is original and handmade in America. Howard Alan Events stipulates that all artists are required to be on-site for the entire duration of the show. The artists will line Las Olas Boulevard with their professional display booths, transforming the area into a first-class outdoor art gallery. The public can meet and talk with the artists personally, asking questions about their art and inspirations.
