CEAMA Concludes Its 33rd Annual Function
(CEAMA) concluded their 33'd annual function this evening. Present on the occasion were Shri Praful Patel - Hon'ble Minister of Heavy Industries and Fublic Enterprises, Shri J. Satyanarayana - Secretary, Department of Electronics & IT, Shri M. S" Bitta - Chairman, All India Anti-Terrorist Front, Shri Mohammed Azharuddin - Member of Parliament along with Mr. Anirudh V Dhoot - President CEAMA.
- (1888PressRelease) December 19, 2012 - Consumer Electronics and Appliances Manufacturers Association (CEAMA) concluded their 33'd annual function this evening. Present on the occasion were Shri Praful Patel - Hon'ble Minister of Heavy Industries and Fublic Enterprises, Shri J. Satyanarayana - Secretary, Department of Electronics & IT, Shri M. S" Bitta - Chairman, All India Anti-Terrorist Front, Shri Mohammed Azharuddin - Member of Parliament along with Mr. Anirudh V Dhoot - President CEAMA and many prominent industry leaders.
Throughout this year, the leadership team of CEAMA members met on several occasions. In August a Seminar was conducted along-with the Government of Rajasthan titled, 'Advantage Rajasthan - Opportunities for Electronics Hub' with a view to encourage Investment in the State of Rajasthan. CEAMA also successfully concluded the inaugural edition of Home Electronics Show 2012 (HES - 2012) * India's biggest ever exhibition of Consumer Electronics, Home Appliances, ICT and Digital Lifestyle Products. The high-energy extravaganza was held for three-days, in October, atPragati Maidan, New Delhi.
Mr. Praful Patel, shared his thoughts and Industry leaders present on the occasion benefited from his vision. In his view "The Consumer Electronics and Home Appliances industry in India after showing healthy growth for last many years was experiencing a weak demand due to slowdown in the economy. He said that country had experienced tremendous progress in these two decades, leading to growth in all sectors including Consumer Electronics and Home Appliances sector. He advised the Indian Electronic & Home Appliances industry to start looking at indigenous sources for components and raw materials.
Mr. J Satyanarayana, Secy. Depaftment of Electronics & IT spoke about Electronic Hardware being identified as thrust area. He said that Gor,t. has notified Electronic Policy to incentivize Electronic Hardware manufacturing in the country
At today's Annual Function, Mr. Anirudh Dhoot, President CEAMA & Director Videocon addressed the dignitaries and spoke about the current economic condition with its effect on the current performance of consumer durable sector. He said, "'We, at CEAMA have made efforts to promote the growth and development of electronic hardware industry in the country. The industry has reached an annual tumover of Rs.40,000 crores and I would like to express my gratitude towards the Government for the initiatives taken towards the improvement of this industry." He concluded stating that the demand of electronics in the Indian market is projected to grow to US $125 billion in next 2-3 years and US $ 400 billion by 2020.
At the Annual Function, Shri Praful Patel - Hon'ble Minister of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises felicitated Mr. Daizo Ito, President, Panasonic India Pvt. Ltd, with the "Man of Electronics" Award and "Outstanding Professional" of the Industry award to Mr. Ravinder Zutshti, Dy Managing Director, Samsung India Electronics Pvt. Ltd.
