CDAO Africa brings together the emerging South African data and analytics community
The South African data analytics environment is gaining momentum but companies are still faced with a number of challenges to truly weave data analytics into the fabric of their organisations.
- (1888PressRelease) April 06, 2017 - When asked about where the majority of South African companies are in their data journey, Craig Steward, Managing Director: EMEA for Corinium Global Intelligence said "Our research has shown that most data & analytics professionals are acutely aware of the need to institute strong data governance frameworks and insight-led decisioning in their businesses but only about 47% feel they have the support and buy-in from the board or the relevant C-level executive."
Other major obstacles cited include: poor data quality or the perception that data quality is poor, a siloed approach to data ownership, a lack of trust in analytics especially in big data analytics and low levels of acceptance or understanding of the power of data analytics across the business.
Corinium hosts Chief Data & Analytics Officer Africa 2017 at The Maslow in Sandton from 3 to 5 July where South Africa's data analytics community will meet to develop strategies to overcome these challenges.
