CD Bioparticles Announces Sugar PEGs to Support Research in Drug Delivery
CD Bioparticles introduces the launch of sugar PEGs for potential applications such as uses for biomaterials.
- (1888PressRelease) July 20, 2021 - CD Bioparticles, a leading manufacturer and supplier of various drug delivery products and services, now introduces the launch of sugar PEGs for potential applications such as uses for biomaterials (i.e. hydrogels) with non-immune response, non-fibrosis surface coating applications, antibacterial applications, and nanomaterial modifications for long-term circulation purpose.
With strong expertise and over years of experience in the drug delivery field, CD Bioparticles specializes in a wide range of formulation and drug delivery technologies, from conventional liposomes, PEGylated liposomes for drug delivery to polymer microspheres and nanoparticles for enhanced drug delivery. To help researchers solve the challenges during the study such as strong immune response or foreign body response of materials, fibrosis and fibrous encapsulation of the drug delivery materials, fast clearance of drug cargos, and limited PEGylation methods on the materials, CD Bioparticles has developed PEG conjugations products, and this new series of sugar PEGs are a supplement to the PEGs series.
The products such as the a-D-Mannopyranoside, tetraacetate-PEG2-bromide, a-D-tetraacetylmannopyranoside-PEG3-bromide, N-azidoacetylgalactosamine-tetraacylated (Ac4GalNAz), N-azidoacetylglucosamine-tetraacylated (Ac4GlcNAz), and ß-D-tetraacetylgalactopyranoside-PEG3-azide are launched in this release. For ß-D-tetraacetylgalactopyranoside-PEG3-azide, it is an unnatural azido-containing monosaccharide building block. The azide moiety can be used for modification though chemoselective ligation chemistries including CuAAC, Cu-free click reaction or Staudinger ligation. The acetyl groups increase solubility in many solvents and make handling of this reagent easier.
"With wide coverage of functional groups useful for different conjugation/crosslinking reactions, our PEG conjugations have functional groups with various density or different chemical geometries useful for fabricating biomaterials with controllable mechanical. In addition, we can provide the PEG conjugations from non-GMP small laboratory scale, to commercial scale in GMP and non-GMP grade." said Prof. Jeffrey A. Depaul, M.D., the chief scientific officer of R&D department of CD Bioparticles.
"We work closely with customers and collaborators, and our goal is to offer them with tools and drug delivery solutions that best fit their needs. At CD Bioparticles, you can find active building blocks for different biomaterial fabrications. And to ensure more clients may benefit from such quality products, we'll further introduce PEG conjugations related products and services that can be used to help scientists for research. We're glad to provide support for our customers' projects to advance their drug delivery research."said Dr. Robin J. Watts, the scientific officer of R&D department of CD Bioparticles.
