CCE unlocks newer versions and PMI data in important update
Significant enhancements announced for CCE’s CAD interoperability libraries. PMI support also received a major boost in this new release.
- (1888PressRelease) June 16, 2017 - FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich – CCE, a leading provider in advanced interoperability technology, has announced an important update of its CAD data interoperability libraries focusing primarily on new version support and PMI enhancements.
CCE’s CATIA V5 libraries were updated to support reading and writing of CATIA V5R62017 data. CCE already has support for all the latest CAD versions including NX 11, CATIA V6 R2017x, Creo 4.0, Inventor 2017, and SOLIDWORKS 2017 among others.
PMI support also received a major boost in this new release. Some notable updates include providing access to generic offset values in CATIA V5 to allow applications to easily position dimensions; providing annotations created using DimXpert suite in SOLIDWORKS; and providing access to entity (face/edge/vertex) associated to a specific PMI annotation in both SOLIDWORKS and NX libraries. CCE’s SOLIDWORKS libraries also allow access to user defined view-display-states in a model. This is particularly useful because a number of large OEMs often have their own specific modeling standards with custom/user-defined display states.
“We are fortunate to have a very demanding customer base licensing our CAD interop technology with hundreds of thousands of installed software seats of translators based on our technology. They keep us on our toes constantly and we are grateful for it. Our latest updates are in direct response to feedback we received from our customers and shows our ability to keep our ears to the ground and be able to quickly react to requests by dedicating resources and delivering the requested functionality in short order,” said Vinay Wagle, Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

About Open Data Exchange (ODX):
Open Data Exchange (ODX) libraries read & write Native CAD data. File formats that are currently supported for ODX include CATIA V4, CATIA V5, CATIA V6, NX, Inventor, SOLIDWORKS, Pro/ENGINEER (PTC Creo®), JT, Solid Edge, Parasolid, IGES, STEP, 3D PDF, VDA, & STL. Applications developed using ODX libraries are independent of CAD. The libraries written in C & C++ are easy to implement & follow software releases via continuous updates. Apart from licensing the library components, we also provide integrations services to integrate our libraries into customer applications. The true benefit of using our ODX libraries is the reduced cost to the user. Our ODX libraries do not require CAD software or licenses, which can be quite costly. ODX gives the user the ability to read & write native CAD files without the cost of ownership associated with the CAD system.
