  • Detroit, MI (1888PressRelease) September 19, 2019 - CCE, a leading provider of advanced interoperability technology, has announced major enhancements of its CAD interoperability libraries in an effort to provide richer access to product data stored in CAD files from all major formats.

Some of the key updates include:
    · Providing higher order derivatives for all types of surfaces, thereby allowing applications to construct surfaces with greater accuracy
    · Enhanced PMI support by providing access to background color and padding information for annotation frames, chamfer dimensions and 3D leaders associated to an annotation
    · Ability to write grid and scan information for point clouds
    · Persistence ID information now available for annotation entities
    · Assembly support enhanced to provide ground, planar and axial assembly constraints
    · Expanded attribute support to include the ability to write textures for default material shader and default camera details for parts and assemblies

“The first part of the year saw a significant number of updates to each of our interoperability libraries. Some of the world’s largest CAD/CAM companies license our technology and it is incumbent upon us to constantly provide meaningful updates that in turn provide our customers with significant competitive advantage in the marketplace. We understand that CAD interoperability is a strategic technology for our ISV customers and our mutual success hinges on our ability to constantly stay ahead of the curve and keep our technology updated with new enhancements,” said Vinay Wagle, CCE’s V.P. Sales & Marketing.

CCE has libraries to read and write data from latest versions of all major CAD formats, including CATIA V5-6R2019, NX 1847, Creo 6.0, SOLIDWORKS 2019, Inventor 2020, Solid Edge 2019, and Parasolid 31.1 among others.

“We have always been the quickest to support latest versions of CAD formats and this year has been no different. If you go back and chart our product releases all year long and compare with general availability of the new versions, we have always been able to do it within 60-90 days. And we have been doing this consistently over the last 25 years,” added Vinay.

Besides licensing to major CAD/CAM software vendors, CCE also uses its proprietary interoperability technology in its own end-user software products. The latest in its suite of offering is EnSuite-Web, a cloud-based viewer that allows users to view CAD data for free directly in their browser. EnSuite-Web has been a roaring success. Since its launch last month, thousands of CAD files have been viewed worldwide using this tool.
