CCE marches on with important PMI updates
Significant enhancements announced for CCE’s interoperability libraries for Creo.
- (1888PressRelease) July 28, 2017 - FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich – CCE, a leading provider in advanced interoperability technology, has announced an important update of its CAD data interoperability library for Creo.
CCE’s Creo library received a major upgrade by providing access to PMI data in Creo 4.0 files, including geometric tolerances, datum and datum targets. This release comes on the back of several such releases this past year focusing heavily on PMI data access. CCEs interoperability libraries for Creo and all other major formats, including CATIA V5, NX, SOLIDWORKS, NX and Solid Edge among others, have extensive support for PMI data that has become very important as most companies transition from a primarily 2D environment to richly annotated 3D models in a Model Based Environment (MBE).
“We work with several companies as part of our engineering services business and can see the transition from a heavily 2D drawing based environment to rich 3D model based definitions at most of our customer sites. This sort of insight directly from the marketplace and requests from our ISV customer base helps us prioritize the development effort of our technology business. This latest release focusing on PMI data for Creo 4.0 files is indicative of that,” said Vinay Wagle, Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

About Open Data Exchange (ODX):
Open Data Exchange (ODX) libraries read & write Native CAD data. File formats that are currently supported for ODX include CATIA V4, CATIA V5, CATIA V6, NX, Inventor, SOLIDWORKS, Pro/ENGINEER (PTC Creo®), JT, Solid Edge, Parasolid, IGES, STEP, 3D PDF, VDA, & STL. Applications developed using ODX libraries are independent of CAD. The libraries written in C & C++ are easy to implement & follow software releases via continuous updates. Apart from licensing the library components, we also provide integrations services to integrate our libraries into customer applications. The true benefit of using our ODX libraries is the reduced cost to the user. Our ODX libraries do not require CAD software or licenses, which can be quite costly. ODX gives the user the ability to read & write native CAD files without the cost of ownership associated with the CAD system.
